Another theory, is that has some connections with the word “thekër”  meaning rye. this idea is taken by some uses of expressions by the locals. Also,  “thellë” in Albanian “deep”. Wich explains the geographic location, Thethi is a deep pit compared to the mountains that surround it. Even as the valley is deep enough in the direction of the source of the river Shala, that even the nearest inhabitants are over an hour away. During their activity, people may have used the expressions: “…I was there deep…”, “…in depth…”, “…deep…” and so on over time the name “Theth” was formed.
